Welcome to Maple Grove UMC
Our mission is to be an open community of Christians who love God and serve our neighbors (Luke 10:27). We truly do believe and try to live out the slogan of our denomination's national ad campaign Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts. Our ministry teams reflect our understanding that every member is a minister. Maple Grove is strategically located on the southwest corner of the busy High and Henderson intersection in the Clintonville-Beechwold area of Columbus which provides us a wonderful window to the world. We would like to invite you to join us for any of our events, especially Sunday morning worship and Sunday School.
That's right! Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players are returning to Maple Grove on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 4 p.m.
Join us for pre-show fun and games starting at 3 p.m.
The concert will take place rain or shine, so either way a great time will be had be all.
And the best part, it's FREE!
The Love Our Neighbor Luncheon and Lecture Series:
Because we believe we can love alike, even though we may not think alike.
This lecture series will explore the challenge of living in a diverse world and the opportunity to make a Christian choice to love our neighbor. Lunch is provided and will be a cultural journey!
Sunday, June 12 from 11:15 to 2:00 - Differences & Sameness
Duane Casares, LISW-S and CEO of Directions for Youth & Families, will offer us the opportunity to speak openly about our differences and invite us to experience our common humanity.
Sunday, July 24 from 11:15-2:00 = Conflict Resolution
Tyler Olson, MA, is the Program Director for Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies at Cuyahoga Community College. He has a bachelor’s degree in religion and a master’s in Conflict Resolution and Studies. Tyler will share with us the skills and practices of sustained dialogue: achieving consensus, active listening, ability to take different perspectives, appreciating diversity, understanding different experiences, and strategic planning. Tyler will help us learn how we can work out differences with our neighbors in a healthy, loving manner.
