Welcome to Maple Grove UMC

Our mission is to be an open community of Christians who love God and serve our neighbors (Luke 10:27). We truly do believe and try to live out the slogan of our denomination's national ad campaign Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts. Our ministry teams reflect our understanding that every member is a minister. Maple Grove is strategically located on the southwest corner of the busy High and Henderson intersection in the Clintonville-Beechwold area of Columbus which provides us a wonderful window to the world.  We would like to invite you to join us for any of our events, especially Sunday morning worship and Sunday School.

Brass Band of Columbus Performance

brass band of cbusTo help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the church’s founding, the Brass Band of Columbus (BBC) will perform in the Maple Grove sanctuary on Friday, February 21 at 7 PM.

The BBC was formed by Dr. Paul Droste, who led the Ohio State Marching Band for 14 seasons starting in 1984, has won numerous awards in North American Brass Band competitions. The BBC is rooted in the tradition of the British Brass Band, which features Cornets instead of Trumpets, and Alto Horns in place of French Horns. This instrumentation helps create a rich and balanced sound that is not duplicated in other ensembles.

The BBC performed for the 75th Anniversary of Maple Grove’s founding, so we are excited to have them return for our 100th-year celebration. A free-will offering will be taken.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Let the good times roll! Shrove Tuesday occurs the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten Season, when traditionally Christians simplified their meals, giving up rich foods, in daily remembrance of the forty days that Jesus spent in the desert fasting and praying.

At Maple Grove, we celebrate Shrove Tuesday with all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, and bacon supper. T.M.I., Confirmation and the youth will host this event on February 25 from 5:30 to 7:00. The cost is $7 per person and children 3 and under eat free. Gluten-free pancakes will be available. All proceeds will benefit our youth and tween ministries. Please join us in Fellowship Hall for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship.
