Children

At Maple Grove we love our children and we are committed to providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment for children, youth, volunteers, and staff.  We have developed a Child Protection Policy in order to establish guidelines for safe practices with children and youth, as well as guidelines for recruiting, screening, and hiring staff and volunteers who work with our children. Copies of this policy are posted in our classrooms and are also available from the church office. To request a copy, or for more information, contact Brenda Buchy, Director of Children's Ministries.

Worship

Families with children are always welcome in our worship services, held at 8:30 and 11:00am (10:00am during June, July and August).  Children's worship bulletins, puzzles, books, and mini-Methodist doodle pads are available on the tables located just inside the Sanctuary doors.

Children's Moments

Early during the second worship service, children are invited to join in Children's Moments at the front of the church. Following Children's Moments children ages 3 through 5 may leave for Grace Kids and children 6 to 5th grade may leave for Children's Worship.

Children's Worship

Children's Worship is held in the Children's Chapel. Children age 6 through 5th grade are invited to join us in the chapel to experience their own special church service filled with traditional elements of worship (acolytes, prayer, scripture, communion, and music) and some non-traditional elements (like the laptop, projector, and sing-along DVD's). The children's worship service is based upon the same weekly scripture that is the foundation for our main worship service, but with a kid friendly focus.

Comfort Care

Our Parlor is available as an alternative to the nursery during worship. From the Parlor, you can see and hear the worship service with the freedom to move around with your child and without the worry that you may be disturbing others.

Nursery and Child Care

Little Lambs Nursery provides care for children from birth until age 1 on Sunday mornings during the 1st and 2nd service, as well as, the Sunday School hour.

Cherubs (ages 1 - 2) is available on Sunday mornings during the 1st and 2nd services and the Sunday School hour. Children in this class experience God's love, through play, music and stories.

Grace Kids (ages 3 - 5) is available on Sunday mornings during the 2nd service and the Sunday School hour. Children in this class will have their own worship experience based on the lectionary.

 Children's Sunday School

C.RO.S.S. (Children's Rotational Sunday School) is for children age 6 through grade 5. All the children gather together each week for an overview of the Bible story. The children are divided into groups according to the age  (ages 6 - 8 and ages 9 - 11) .

The age-level groups then rotate to different workshops over a four-week period for a variety of creative learning experiences. Each four-week session will offer different workshops. Each child will enjoy all four workshops, offering different ways to experience the Bible story.

Grace Kids (age 3 - 5) will follow the same curriculum as C.RO.S.S. however they will stay in one room rather than rotate.
