Serving Our Neighbors

Maple Grove's mission statement, "to be an open community of Christians who love God and serve our neighbors," reflects our belief that we are the hands of Christ at Maple Grove, in this community, and around God's world. Maple Grovers have a history, in keeping with our church's mission, of giving ourselves in service to our neighbors.

“Holy God, help us remember that Christ has no body on earth but ours - No hands, no feet on earth but ours. Ours are the eyes through which Christ looks on the world with compassion. Amen.” (St. Teresa of Avila) Central to our life is the desire to reach beyond our walls into the community and the world so that St. Teresa’s prayer might be a prayer experienced by others. 

There are many ways to use your hands as Christ's hands: serving others, praying, teaching, extending Christian hospitality, caregiving, stewardship of resources, and being in Christian fellowship.
