Maple Grove is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children, youth, volunteers, and staff.  Our Child Protection Policy establishes guidelines for safe practices with children and youth, as well as guidelines for recruiting, screening, and hiring staff and volunteers who work with children.  Copies of this policy are posted in our classrooms and are also available from the church office.  To request a copy, or for more information, contact Brenda Buchy, Director of Children's Ministries.
Worship 
Families with children are always welcome in our worship services, held at 8:30 and 11:00am. Children's worship bulletins, puzzles, books, and mini-Methodist doodle pads are available on the tables located just inside the Sanctuary doors.

NURSERY CARE (birth until age 1) is available on Sunday mornings during the 1st and 2nd service in the Little Lambs Nursery. 

CHERUBS (age 1 until 2) is available on Sunday mornings during the 1st and 2nd service and is next to the Little Lambs Nursery. Children in this class experience God's love, through play, music and stories.

GRACE KIDS  (age 2 through 3) is available on Sunday mornings during the 2nd service and is in room 127, next to the Cherubs Room.

OUR PARLOR is available as an alternative to the nursery during worship.  From the Parlor, you can see and hear the worship service without worry that your child may be disturbing others.

CHILDREN'S MOMENTS are offered early in the second worship service.  Children may then leave for Children's Worship. Children age 4 through 5th grade are invited to join us in the chapel to experience their own special church service filled with traditional elements of worship (acolytes, prayer, scripture, communion, and music) and some untraditional elements (like the laptop, projector, and sing-along DVD's). The children's worship service is based upon the same weekly scripture that is the foundation for our main worship service, but with a kid friendly focus.

Sunday Schools 

Sunday School classes for children meet September through May from 9:45 to 10:45am.

CHERUBS is for children from age 1 through age 2.  Children in this class experience God's love, through play, music and stories.

GRACE KIDS  is for children age 2 through 3.  Led by our coordinator, Kim Workman, kids learn about God and Jesus by  listening to Bible stories, doing crafts and playing games and  follow the same curriculum as CROSS. This class meets  next to the Cherubs Room.

C.RO.S.S. (Children's Rotational Sunday School)  is for children age 4 through grade 5.  All the children gather together each week  for an overview of the Bible story. The children are divided into groups according to the age/grade (preschoolers, grades 1 & 2, grades 3 &4). The age-level groups then rotate to different workshops over a 3-4 week period for a variety of creative learning experiences. Each 3-4 week session, will offer different workshops. Each child will enjoy all 3-4 workshops, offering different ways to experience the Bible story.  The workshops will be the following:   Creative Cookery @ Lord's Kitchen, Science @ Holy Lab, Games @ Arcade of the Covenant, Art @ Thou Art! Studio, Computer @ Mouse Pad, Drama @ Stages of Faith, & Cinema @ BibleMax Theater. Workshop leaders agree to teach the same workshop for 3 weeks, preparing once and making age-level adjustments from week to week as needed.

 
 
 
 
Special Ministries 

SPROUTS is a mission and fellowship group for grades 3 - 5, where kids learn to love God and love their neighbors.  Sprouts meets for 4-6 weeks in fall, winter, and spring from 12:30-2:30 with childcare provided.

HANDISCIPLES PUPPET MINISTRY dramatizes God's word using puppets and music.  Children in 3th grade and older are invited to participate.  They meet on Sunday afternoons  for 3-4 weeks at a time.  Contact  Page Maston (846-2532) with any questions.

ACOLYTES are an important part of our Sunday morning worship, symbolically carrying the light of Christ into and out of the sanctuary for worship.  Those 4th grade and older are invited to participate and generally serve as acolytes once every 6-8 weeks. For more information, contact Sally Payne at 885-0544.

The CHRISTMAS PAGEANT offers Children and youth the platform to use drama and music to retell the Christmas story each year at the 7:00pm Christmas Eve worship service. Practices are held in the afternoon on the first 3 Sundays in December. Dress rehearsal is in the morning on December  23rd.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL  is a weeklong evening summer ministry for children.  Our 2008 VBS is July 13-July 17.  

FAMILY F.A.I.T.H. NIGHTS (Fun Activities In The Heat) are on Sunday evenings during the summer. The activities will vary and may include a movie night and a water fun night!
